- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I offer a FREE 50-minute Wellness Reflection Session that can be conducted over the phone, or via FaceTime or Skype. This gives me a chance to better understand your health history and your goals. It also helps you determine whether my approach and expertise is what you're looking for. These sessions are often helpful in and of themselves, so I welcome you to call/text me to set yours up now. I would be delighted to talk with you.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received my health coach training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York where I studied over 100 different dietary theories. Raw vegan nutrition and food preparation from Chef Brooke Preston at the Green Boheme in Roseville, CA. I am currently pursuing additional training and certification in gluten-free nutrition from the Gluten Free Society. My own health journey and life experience have been more educational than anything I've read or formal studies I've undertaken. I used to suffer from regular debilitating migraines, anxiety and chronic low mood, acne, and thyroid imbalances to name a few. Out of pure desperation and lack of other options, I began investigating everything I could get my hands on to improve my state of health. It was a slow and grueling process, but once I truly started to experience exceptional health, I was smitten. I became so passionate about nutrition and holistic wellness, that I knew a career change was in order. In my prior life, (and by that I mean, what I did before launching my private health coaching practice) I worked as a real estate and land use economic analyst. Did you go to sleep reading that last sentence? It's ok, although is was a respectable and lucrative career, I could hear my voice fall flat every time I told people what I did for a living. My heart was no longer in it. I felt myself die a little each day I sat in that dreadful cubicle. Finally, after months of contemplation, I took the leap, and decided to ditch a profession that my years of advanced schooling and multiple diplomas said was perfect for me, in exchange for pursuing my passion of helping people just like you feel well enough to live their life to the fullest.
