FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
No, although I do have price ranges for different types of shoots and packages. Location of the shoot, time spent preparing for and at the shoot and the number of images requested all affect the price quoted.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically when I am contacted by a new customer it is by email, here I get the basic information on what they're looking for in their shoot, as well as basic information such as preferred dates and times, budget estimate, general location, etc. After I have this basic information, I usually speak with the new customer on the phone in order to discuss the details of their shoot to ensure that we're going to work well together, that they have any questions they may have answered, and to schedule the exact date and time for their shoot. Also, this is where we will discuss any outfit changes, location preferences and also what they would like to have after the shoot (prints, digital files, etc.). Once we have the date and time set, I accept payment for 50% of the total shoot price (to reserve the date and time) and we're ready to go!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a self-taught photographer with a background in film photography and darkroom processing. I have been working with cameras for over 13 years and have never stopped learning. I don't think there will ever be a point where I "know everything there is to know" about photography since it's a constantly evolving industry and art form.
