Introduction: Hi, I'm Krista! I'm a classically trained cellist, and throughout my 14 years of playing I've had the opportunity to enhance numerous wedding ceremonies, parties, live concerts, worship sets, and recordings with the lyrical, resonant sound of the cello. On top of my classical training, I have several years' experience with improvisation on the cello, and often create parts on the fly for worship sets and recordings. The cello is a rich and captivating instrument, yet one that takes a lot of time and dedication to master. I genuinely love having the opportunity to bring the sought-after sound of cello to clients and friends. Music is experienced mutually between the player and the listener, and when I hear how someone connected with and enjoyed what I had to offer, it makes all of the work completely worth it!

Krista Brubaker is the most fine tuned musician I know. She attains the perfect balance of musicality and artistic expression. Listening, watching, and working with Krista is a great joy and reflects God's presence." - Rico Jordan, groom / vocalist

Krista was the icing on the cake at our daughters wedding. The theme was shabby/sheik and Krista added the sophistication to make the event truly great.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Bachelor of Arts in Instrumental Music

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I've worked with a local artist on a few songs for his new album, and the most recent song we recorded sounded great with the cello added. When I got to the studio, it took about an hour and a half to lay down cello tracks for the entire song - some parts were improvised as I played through it, other parts were ideas the artist communicated to me as we recorded. He seemed to be really happy with the cello tracks and I'm excited to hear the final record.
