Introduction: I am a certified Secondary Mathematics teacher with 26 years in the public schools. I look forward to helping your son or daughter achieve success in their math class.
After earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering, I started tutoring 2 high school students in both Physics and PreCalculus. They kept coming back and I enjoyed it so much that I went back to school to get my Secondary Education certification in Mathematics.
After earning my certification, I started teaching at Riverview Gardens High School where I have taught for 26 years. During my time there I taught everything from General Math through PreCalculus. I was also their Math interventionist for the one year Riverview Gardens had one. All 26 years I provided time after school for my students, because I knew that not all of them could be successful with only the time provided in my class. Success of my students was always important to me.
Now that I have retired from public education, I want to start doing what got me into education in the first place. I still enjoy working with middle and high school students, but on a closer to 1 to 1 ratio.

Mr. Lutker is currently tutoring my two children. One is challenged in Mathematics, the other is advanced, but struggling with school setting. Mr. Lutker immediately developed a good working relationship with each child. They are both eagerly learning Math from him, and they never complain about going to the sessions. Excellent Teacher with credentials!! I am pleased, as curiosity re: Mathematics is present in both children. Mr. Lutker adjusts well to where the child is capable, and gives better tips than I would for the subject. Excellent Teacher...more than I had hoped.
