Jamell has been very instrumental in helping me develop better communication skills based on my personality strengths and weaknesses. She is a very attentive listener and hears everything you say and most importantly those things you don't. She has a passion for helping you figure out the best approach to address the pain, sadness, fear, stubbornness, uncertainty, and joy that exist in your daily interactions. Jamell does not mind helping you face and overcome difficult experiences or struggles. Her sincere honesty, kindred spirit, and vast knowledge helps to equip you with the tools needed to not only feel better but to do better. I've been meeting with Jamell for several months & she has done an excellent job helping me become more self-aware, how to think before I react and become a better communicator. She always gives great insight on situations offering a different perspective without being judgmental. I always walk away from our sessions with practical tips and exercises to live my best life. It has been a great experience and I look forward to more sessions and working on my self improvement.

I am so blessed to have MRS Jamell Jacobs in my life. I went to to her at one of my lowest point in my life. I received some news that change my family and I was very devastated and didn't know if I could get over it. Jamell gave me some tools to work with, so I can move forward in my life. She also opened up my eyes to certain things that was going on in my life that had been there all along. Since being counseled by Jamell, she has help me to realize I am important too!!!! I have found out who I am, I have found out my worth, and I have found out it's okay to take of me and not feel guilty about it. Jamell is a great listener, a wonderful person, she didn't looked down on me, she didn't judge me, she helped me. Today I am not the same person who walked through her door broken down. When new clients come in, it's important to get a good understanding of what brought them to counseling at the time, gather information about their history, and work to build a good rapport.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Masters of Education in Professional Counseling from the University of Missouri - St. Louis. I am provisionally licensed in Missouri and a Nationally Certified Counselor.
