Joy Ross

Introduction: I aim to share the practice of yoga with others in a positive and nurturing environment, broadening my experience as a teacher while deepening my personal practice, and fostering relationships with other yogis in the broader community. I am patient, honest, compassionate, and sincere in my dealings with others, and I believe that such qualities help me to establish genuine connections with people. I believe that this ability to establish trust and rapport would be valuable in connecting with students and promoting the safe and welcoming culture that fusion yoga offers. I have developed a genuine passion for the practice of yoga, both physically and philosophically, and an enthusiasm to share this practice with others. A student's level of enthusiasm rises or falls relative to that of the instructor, and I believe my passion for this practice can inspire that of others. My passion for learning leads me to seek to improve constantly, and I would approach my role as an instructor as something to constantly be working to improve, taking time in and outside of the studio to seek those things that can help me to expand my practice and be the best teacher possible. Having worked in professions requiring good customer service skills, I have developed a good ability to relate to people of all ages and from a diversity of professional, economic, and cultural backgrounds. Additionally, having worked since the age of 15, I have learned well the importance of a committed work ethic, diligence, and professionalism necessary to successfully operate a business. I believe that the skills and experiences I've gained in my professional background would serve to help me approach a teaching position in a personable yet professional manner and help me to be a trustworthy custodian of the studio and ambassador to the community.
