Introduction: You can view my most up to date work on Instagram: @alysonhallphoto I primarily shoot on 35 & 120mm film and am drawn to moments that evoke genuine emotion and feeling. I like to combine a photojournalistic approach with a cinematic & artistic feel and strive to bring out natural and raw emotions in the process. I steer away from stiff posing and prefer to capture activities and movement that evoke genuine feeling. It’s not about perfection, but rather, feeling. I know that most couples in front of my camera are first-timers and thus give direction and guidance in a way that doesn't feel cheesy or stiff. My editing style, while I hope speaks for itself, is vibrant and timeless. I steer away from trendy filters and simply try to enhance the natural colors and tones of the day. If it's a dreary day, I'm going to shoot in a way thats authentic to that, but if the sun is out and the colors are stark, you'll see that in the images. I'm inspired by old film stocks and my photos have a dreamy film look to them. I take a lot of pride in this job-- I get to freeze time for people via artistic imagery and capture moments and feelings and memories that will be looked back on and cherished for generations to come... it's an honor each time and I don't take it lightly.
