My jewelry website had some SEO and speed work done on it by Grakkit SEO and they did very well. Traffic to my site has increased and my site is much faster. I set up my website a year ago. After much trial and error, mostly error, and 0 online orders, I finally decided it was time to find a professional. Sam was very easy to work with, always on time with our list of "to-do's", and took the time to explain why he was doing what he did. He rewrote my home page "story" to attract the right search engines, he renamed my products to do the same. My website is now on lists that I didn't know existed. My bounce rate lingered in the 80%-90% range most of the year, and today it is a steady 40%-50% and coming down. It's been about 5 weeks since the work he did, and last week was my first organic online order! After a year at 0 and to 1 in 5 weeks, I'm thrilled and I know that this is only the beginning. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I diagnose the customer's website to understand exactly what its shortcomings are, and develop a plan with the customer to implement a solution to match their goals.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I wanted to get a website that supported my tutoring business I wanted to start. I went with a 'sitebuilding' web service and terrible experience with that. I had to pay $100 per month for hosting for a bad website that did not rank at all on search engines. I became frustrated enough at this, that I committed myself to learning how to create and optimize websites. So I read books on HTML and CSS and built my skills from there. I wanted to have more control over what I was doing and do more cool stuff, so I taught myself Javascript, jQuery, and PHP after that.
