State 28 Roofing and Joe Swarts (owner) handled my sisters hail loss in a manner that I have rarely experienced. As an adjuster, myself, for more than 20 years and an insurance restoration contractor for 25 years, I expect insurance losses to be a quagmire of red tape, and contractors so busy that satisfaction falls fast and far. I'm retired now and was not looking forward to micro-managing a project in the worse hail event in insurance history. Joe and his men had my sisters roof completed in 6 days after the initial inspection. I played little part in facilitating this result but for a few well timed phone calls to the insurance company. The job was completed using the best materials available, no short cuts were taken and all components that make up the roofing system were replaced save step flashing on the brick chimney. (No good will ever come from attempting to replace step flashing in a finished brick parapet without extensive reworking of the brick juncture, which forevermore will appear repaired.) The job cost and scope of work were both achieved to the letter. The workmanship is top notch, the professionalism is the gold standard. Joe wrote the supplemental estimate, for the interior damage, (the insurance companies adjuster failed to include). Using the same computer program and technique for determining the extent of damage, the insurance company approved the funds without a need for reinspecting, saving two weeks or more on scheduled completion. I couldn't be happier with the process and I'm certain you will find that State 28 is the superior choice for your needs . Thanks Joe, MJGibbons

We cannot express how grateful we are to Stste 28 roofing for taking care of replacing our roof after the hailstorm in March 2016. Initially we were told by the insurance company that there was no damage to our roof. State 28 did an inspection and found enough damage that we were able to have our roof replaced. They took care of everything with our insurance company. They went over and above to make sure all damage was repaired. They were honest and detailed in their estimate. My service is based on Xactimates pricing. This is the same estimating program that 95% of the insurance industry uses to accurately price construction needs.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Contacting customer is number one, reviewing their needs, writing an itemized estimate, reviewing schedule, start date, and timeline to finish repairs they're requesting. Our goal is to not have anyone waiting longer than 2 weeks for a new roof installation.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The owner of the company has 20 years of insurance experience and 35 years of construction experience. Joe Swarts, founder and owner of State 28 Roofing, trains all of his project managers thoroughly to keep them current. His roof installers have 20-40 years of experience installing all types of roofing material. The construction crews are supervised by Dan Baker, brother in-law of founder, and has been a licensed general contractor since 1985.
