- How did you get started doing this type of work?Christopher Valdez is a 2010 graduate of St. Philips College's 500 hour Massmage program and began his career in the massage therapy industry by becoming a Physical Therapy Technician/ Licensed Massage Therapist for Stratton Rehabilitation from 2011 to 2017. Working with various health conditions presented with each patient he has acquired experience in the areas of patient care, assisting in patient evaluations, exercise instruction and modalities (electrical stimulation, ultrasound, kinesio taping, decompression traction set-ups, and more). Through the 6 years of working in a clinical setting he has gained each certification in technique through St. Philips College's Continued Education. In 2012 he provided sports massage for the MS-150 participants. In 2015 he contributed in a chronic pain study with UTHSC ReACH Center instructing and providing walk-through material for self massage care to the San Antonio community. Christopher continues to sharpen his skill set while managing his own massage practice, providing education on the many improvements massage provides in other patient settings and strives for the best quality care for his clientele today.
