Introduction: My "art creations" each tell a STORY about that person/persons/event through something I specially create. Every creation is carefully and thoughtfully designed from scratch--never computer-generated. At Oh Mai! Art Creations, the goal is simple: to translate one's ideas, visions, style and vision into original art that meets their needs. What I enjoy most about my work is hearing my client's story. I love hearing how a couple met and designing an invitation suite that represents their personalities and unique story. Or hand-lettering nursery rhymes quote on vintage wood pieces for the baby's room. It's about the small, lovely details that add the personal touch.

I absolutely loved all of the work that Oh Mai Art Creations did for our wedding! We not only asked for name cards for each guest, but also several chalkboards which featured the table assignments, the cupcake flavors at our dessert table, and a photo booth sign. I was not sure how I wanted each chalkboard designed or what exactly to feature, and Mai Jill had great suggestions that made the decision process for the final designs very easy. I am so glad that I went with OMAC because of the personal touch that you get from artwork created by hand. The quality of her calligraphy and designs is second to none! Not only is her work amazing, but working with Mai Jill was so easy. She has great communication skills and is very professional. I truly felt that she cared about making our day special. So many of our guests complimented her work. I will definitely be using OMAC again!

I found this amazing vintage window frame with distressed wood and envisioned a beautiful verse to be handwritten for our nursery. I immediately knew Jill was the only person I trusted to bring such a special piece to life for me! She provided a handful of different ideas and scripts for us work with. We were able to collaboratively design the most beautiful handmade wall art. I look at it everyday and love it more and more each day. Jill is truly talented and takes pride in not only her work, but her relationship with her clients. I look forward to many more collaborations with Jill and would recommend her for anything.

Mai created beautifully perfect addresses for my wedding invitation envelopes and I could not be happier with her work! She is super sweet, flexible, and great to work with. She even did 3 additional envelopes for me when I goofed and left some people off of the list I gave her. I am so glad she loves and still believes in the art of handwritten mail, just like I do!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Most artwork and designs are customized. Every "art creation" is tailored to the client's visions and needs, so there's no standard pricing system.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I asked the client what inspires them and to send me pictures of what they love. Sharing their Pinterest board is best to give me a visual of the style and vibe they are wanting. I create a couple of quick sketches and email them to see if I'm designing in the right direction. Once the client approves, I refine the design based on their feedback. After a few more revisions and once the client is happy, I send/email the final artwork/design.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from Savannah College of Art and Design. I'm an artist at heart and I'm passionate about calligraphy and design, which I've doing for 3 1/2 years. My day job is a Marketing Graphic Designer for a furniture manufacturer for the past 6 1/2 years. I'm very proficient with Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
