FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My fee is $180 per 50 minute session. I have a limited number of reduced fee spots for people experiencing financial strain. Reduced fee appointments are usually in the daytime. In order to give the therapy a fair chance at being effective, I ask clients to commit to coming in on a consistent weekly basis. At this time, I am an "in-network provider" with San Francisco Health Plan (Medi-Cal) only. If you have any other insurance provider, I will not be able to directly process insurance claims. Many insurance plans, however, accept bills for treatment from "out-of-network" providers, like myself. It is up to you to find out if you are eligible for insurance reimbursement. In the case that you are, and that you would like to seek reimbursement, I will be able to provide a monthly bill for you to give to your insurance company. I accept payment by cash or check.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically start with a brief phone call so that I can find out what you're looking for and, if appropriate, to then schedule an initial in-person session.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a master's degree in counseling psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies. The predominant theoretical orientation of my training has been psychodynamic. In a nutshell, this means I believe that insight (within the context of a compassionate therapy relationship) into the underlying causes of our thoughts, feelings, sensations, and actions, can decrease suffering and increase equanimity and integration.
