Extremely amiable and experienced, lovely to work withJul 15, 2018Verified
Aanchal is very flexible and always works with my schedule. After the first couple of sessions, she understood how I worked and what could be improved. I felt like I can trust her and ask dumb questions, because of her outgoing personality. I just took the SAT, and I'm feeling very confident about my scores!Oct 7, 2018
Aanchal was a terrific SAT tutor. She helped me identify problem types I was struggling with, and worked with me to develop strategies to tackle these. She had me feeling comfortable for the SAT on the day, which was great! Aanchal also gave me advice throughout the daunting college admissions process, which was a huge help. Very grateful!May 29, 2018
Aanchal really helped me improve my scores on all three sections so that I hit my goal. She was really patient and made the experience fun instead of tedious so I would definitely recommend herMay 27, 2018

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? After the first free session, my standard rate is $75 per hour for SAT/ACT tutoring and college admissions coaching. I also offer package-based discounts: 5 sessions for $350 or 10 sessions for $650. I can help students with a variety of services including studying for the SAT I, ACT, SAT II subject tests, choosing colleges to apply to, editing college application essays, and reviewing Common App or resume submissions.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? When working with a new customer, I typically like to first get to know the student and gain a better understanding of their learning style as well as what they're looking for in an SAT/ACT tutor or college admissions coach. Next steps involve taking a diagnostic test to understand where the student's strength and weakness areas lie and using this information to create a custom study plan that will reach the student's goals before their intended test date. I meet with students at public libraries and cafes in San Francisco.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?Having recently gone through the process of taking the SAT/ACTs and applying to colleges myself, it only felt natural to take on a guiding role when my two younger siblings reached the same point in their high school careers. After helping them score well on the SAT/ACTs and get accepted to great colleges, I figured I could use these skills to help other students do the same! I enjoy working with bright and passionate young students, sharing my expertise and experiences with those who may be daunted by the college admissions process.
