Goals
Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I employ a variety of body awareness exercises (relaxation, meditation, body repatterining) to access and explore personal concerns and next steps in life. I can work with you specifically as a Life Coach or as a Movement Coach to enhance your workout routine or construct alternatives to standard workouts. I enjoy helping clients connect to a deeper awareness of emotional and/or physical blocks by offering a space to slow down and consider dominant patterns in life hindering the expression of other possibilities both physically and/or personally. I offer an introduction session at $100 for a 90 minutes private in-studio session. Single in-studio private sessions are also offered at a sliding scale. Additionally, Zoom sessions are available at a reduced price. Six session packages are available on a sliding scale for both in-studio and Zoom sessions.

Working with Jason Hancock has taught me about how my body has old learned patterns that hold stress and keep me from being in balance physically and emotionally. With Jason’s deep background in many movement disciplines including Feldenkrais and yoga he has been able to help me discover my unconscious physical tendencies I was not even aware of. Jason has a very gentle nature and is good about getting you to explore and discover the different habits we have learned over time. With simple floor work, the use of gravity, and deep breathing I found my body letting go of stress I wasn’t even aware of. The work is very low impact and does not require a high heart rate. So much is in the breath. One of Jason’s first exercises for me was to spend just 10 minutes before I go to bed laying on the floor with my legs up to engage my hip sockets. At first I found it hard to lay there, and would often check to see if I set my timer. My mind was racing. However, it was such an accessible exercise, just laying on the floor, it was possible to build up a habit of doing it regularly. It was so attainable in fact that I began to try it in the morning and found that it helps ground me for the start of my day.

Jason was a great finding. I have a torn meniscus from a running injury and was going through physiotherapy sessions. He was able to spot wrong behavior movements in my walking, bending and even waking. Simple mundane movements that can totally ruin your posture or affect the body alignment if not made with mindfulness. Our sessions were full of breathing exercises on the ground that help not only to find inner balance but to work with subtle movements that have huge consequencial impact on daily life (body and soul). I still practice his exercises at home and often catch myself correcting my posture and readjusting my feet while walking the dog. I truly recommend Jason for anyone who looks to improve posture and re-education of their body’s movements or simply get a better awareness of it.

"Through working with Jason, I slowly became comfortable with several aspects of dating that I had always been aware of but wasn't really comfortably talking about. The more time we spent together, the more open I became in my thinking and in my conversation. Now, I'm wondering what was so hard about it all. My change happened gradually in large part, I think, because Jason had a plan in mind, and he executed it masterfully. He is patient, never pushed me too hard and had no problem re-focusing our conversation if need me. He is wise beyond his years."

Jason works with great professionalism and skill. He is immediately focused and engages quickly. You are at ease. Jason’s knowledge is keen and he is brilliant at creating something that works specifically for you. I found him informative and will definitely call upon him again.

About ten months ago I fell and injured my back. As a result, I got into the habit of holding myself in a rigid way to protect the injury. I found that, in spite of doing Yoga, swimming and biking, I was unable to relax. Jason Hancock came to my house twice and very calmly led me through some simple movements that reminded me how sometimes, less can be more!!! I highly recommend Jason to anyone who needs help relaxing!! ADT
