What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied clinical massage at the Soma Institute, in Chicago. This is a 750 hour program that includes anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, pathology and special techniques. We covered Swedish, deep tissue, lymphatic, tapotement, sports massage, effleurage, petrissage and other techniques to address both specific and general issues.
The continuing education I have done is primarily energy work including reiki, chakra balancing, aura clearing, and sound healing. I integrate these techniques with clinical massage techniques with great results.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I offer both table and chair massage to accommodate various client needs... individuals as well as events where they would like to integrate a wonderful little surprise for the guests.
Clients can request a massage, energy therapy or hybrid session.
I work with the full range of clients from people who have serious issues with muscle spasms fundamentally affecting their daily activities, athletics, ability to work, and/or their posture... to people who just want a Swedish massage for relaxation. I tailor the massage session and techniques used to the client needs. The wide range of clients keeps this profession really fun and interesting.
