My house, its a very, very fine house; this is where I want to get married. Well have the ceremony under the trees and the reception on the lawn. Humm.., I wonder if that will work? Thank goodness I decided to use a wedding planner! I contacted Julie and during our first consultation, she measured the venue areas and realized within minutes that the lawn area could not accommodate 100 people for a reception, but would work for the ceremony. We walked around our property and she came up with an alternative suggestion for the reception. It was one of those I would never have thought of that moments. We discussed what I had envisioned for my special day, and if it was doable with my budget. During the process, she suggested alternatives to reduce costs but still stay with my vision. She is a delight to work with, stayed within my budget and produced a fabulous wedding. I had no idea what is involved in planning a wedding, but theres plenty. I would highly recommend Thats A Wrap Events!, and Julies your gal.

Thank you for making our first annual Tacky Ugly Christmas Sweater party a success. After meeting with you to discuss what we had in mind as our theme, you were able to transform our home from Ho Hum to Ho, Ho, Ho! The classy tacky Christmas decorations that I envisioned were better and funnier than I expected. As our guests entered our home in their ugly Christmas sweaters there were shrieks of laughter, a good indication that a fun party was well on its way. Not only the decorations, but organizing the food, beverage and all the other necessities for a party were handled seamlessly. She allowed us to be a guest at our own party. She is a joy to work with. We plan to make this an annul event - youre hired for 2016

Julie did a fabulous job creating and producing an 80th birthday party for my wife. Many unique things from an ice cream cake replica of a favorite bird house to a video presentation of the special periods of her life. very special remembrance for the gal who never wanted nor had a special party until that day..

Working with Julie was a dream from start to finish. From the very first phone call, I had absolutely no doubts that she would be able to pull off the vision I had for my wedding day. Julie is truly phenomenal. She has really found her life's calling in event and wedding planning! Her work exceeded my expectations. She was so helpful every step of the way; any question I had, no matter how small, she was there to answer. I was ridiculously calm the day of the wedding because I knew Julie was there taking care of everything. From set up to tear down, I did not have to worry about a single thing. Everyone commented on how beautiful the whole wedding turned out and how smoothly everything ran and that is really owed to Julie's hard work and execution of the entire event! She is a true rock star and the wedding would have been so hectic without her around to manage everything! There are no words to express how wonderful it was to work with Julie. My new husband and I are trying to figure out ways in which we can work with her again outside the setting of a wedding, because that's how amazing she is. Everyone should be lucky enough to have Julie be a part of their wedding--she and her work are absolutely worth investing in!

I was looking for someone exactly like Julie for help with our son and daughter in law's upcoming wedding and also the rehearsal dinner that was being held at my house for 130 people. Julie is extraordinarily organized without once feeling pushy or opinionated. She is a good listener with years of experience behind her. She is prepared for whatever you may throw her way and even invented and made hurricane lamp covers for our almost 200 candles in case of wind out our outdoor wedding festivities! For our outdoor BBQ Julie designed the seating arrangements, hired staff, had a large selection of linens to choose from and great connections with vendors. She has a good eye for design and understands how people move about at events. Her timing is impeccable and yet I actually never felt rushed or intruded upon. My party was my party and I enjoyed every minute of it because I new Julie had everything under control. We had so much fun! The wedding the next day was the same experience. All was perfect and Julie the consummate pro had us all lined up and ready to go in her quite professional way and we all complimented her in her confident presence, organizational skills and professionalism. She put in many hours of work to make the rehearsal dinner and wedding come off without a hitch. I never worried for a second and had complete confidence in her. I highly recommend Julie for any event large or small.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We normally charge by the hour for any event with a budget that does not exceed $20,000. If the event budget exceeds this amount, a percentage-based formula will be agreed upon by the client and Thats A Wrap! Events. Flat fee options are available based on the project scope parameters.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Preliminary consultations between the event planner and prospective clients to discuss the suggested event, including purpose, timeline, scope, theme, and budget. Creation of design and marketing plans, project scope, timeline, and preliminary budgets, based on choices the planner determines will complement the event and corresponding budget parameters. Ongoing meetings with the clients and chosen vendors during the planning phase of the event project. Communication/interaction with any and all chosen vendors to ensure scheduling and deliverable promises are met. Various travel to showrooms, vendor locations, and venue. On-site presence before, during, and after the event to ensure all components of the event go smoothly. Follow up with the client upon completion of the event to evaluate the success of the event, discuss any issues and ensure the client was completely satisfied with all aspects of the event managed by Thats A Wrap! Events.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Thats A Wrap! Events is the culmination of Julie M. Jones past lives in theatre, sewing, fashion, set design, marketing, web design, and experience as co-chair for a premier Bay Area nonprofit fundraising gala for six years, for which she received Volunteer of the Year in 2013. Julies experience enables her to offer a unique perspective that she incorporates into all of her events. Event planning is Julies passion and her enthusiasm is contagious. As noted by both past and present colleagues, her attention to detail and ability to manage, multi-task, and execute are unparalleled. in addition, Julie is currently enrolled in the certificate program offered by The Special Events Institute and is ultimately seeking her certification as a Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP) through The International Special Events Society (ISES).
