FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I find that online communication is really helpful. I like to share ideas on Pinterest & I can even make mood-boards for my clients so we know what type of theme or look we are going for before the event. I like to schedule a trial for brides or other special occasions, if needed, so that on the day everything runs smoothly. This usually happens 4 to 6 weeks before. My goal is to always make my clients feel special and relaxed in my presence & once done, feel fabulous & confident for their event!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I trained at Aveda Institute in London, UK also at L'ORÉAL Professional, Wella and Goldwell Academies in London, UK. I certified in makeup with GlamLab Academy, San Francisco and am completing ongoing training with QC Makeup Academy. I also take classes with MAC Pro and Kryolan Makeup Academy too.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
It's something I've always done, really. I've been into hair & makeup since I was a little girl, I guess you could say it's in my blood! I started working in a salon at the age of 15 & never looked back! Since moving to Santa Cruz from London, the opportunity to work more regularly on weddings has been wonderful! I just love working with people & being a part of making them feel as fabulous on the outside as they are on the inside! I still love being in the salon too. Coloring & cutting hair is a constant passion of mine. I used to be obsessed with the ads in haute couture magazines (I still am!) & would study the images to see exactly where the color placement was & plan on how I would approach creating that look on one of my guests...
