My son has been playing the violin since he was 3 yrs old but never really clicked into the improv aspect of playing until he did a summer camp 2 yrs ago with SPLA. For the first time, I saw him moving his body and having fun with his instrument. In fact, all the kids were doing the same. He tried the camp again this past summer and loved it even more, so now we will be adding ongoing SPLA classes to his Fall Semester. Jacob is truly a hands on teacher and so very enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge and talents with the kids. Also, the concerts were wonderful, I couldn't believe what the kids learned to play in such a short period of time. Very excited about the upcoming year!

My son can't wait for the next semester of his alternative string group (ASG) to start up again! Jacob has taught him so much about being creative and passionate about the violin and music, which has been a liberating complement to years of school orchestra. SPLA is a unique program with the most positive and inspiring teachers possible- so thankful to be a part of it!
