FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Unlike many design professionals, I provide upfront, fixed pricing, and I will make it clear what is and is not included in the price. Pricing is highly variable from project to project. For an accurate price, please provide as much information as possible when requesting services.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to start just by having a conversation with my Client. I want to have a clear understanding of the goals of the project, to ensure my work supports those goals. Early in the project I will provide a conceptual plan to allow the client to understand the extent of structural work that will be required, so they are not surprised later down the road. As I finalize the design I will check in with my Client to coordinate the structural work with other professions and ensure all of the work lines up. I will provide a final draft to my Client prior to signing the plans, and talk them through the structural work. Only when my Client understands and approves, do I release the signed copy to submit for building permits.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Civil Engineering degree from California State University Chico, and I'm a licensed Professional Engineer, No. 87230. My engineering studies have been focused on structural engineering, and I've continued to update my knowledge throughout my career.
