FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is considered very low and intentionally so. I want the services to be reasonable for clients. I have several package options. I put a lot of time and energy into my sessions and I am very intentional. The service is incredibly personalized and well worth the price. I am open to making payment arrangements when needed as I never want this valued care to feel out of reach to someone.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our time together starts with a complimentary phone session. This gives us the space to provide me some insight as to their current needs and concerns. I am them able to propose my suggestions. I am very sensitive to resources and pride myself on stretching the dollar for clients. Therefore, I really strive to match the service that best suits them for their short and long terms needs. This considerations is also applied when we are shopping together. 99% of the time, our first session starts in their closet for a Closet Clarity Session. This enables me to get a sense what they are currently drawn towards for styles as well as what items can be repurposed. In this session we are exploring what items may be best to retire and I provide some insight and direction for items I think would be suitable to add in based on the needs they have shared and their lifestyle. I also include in this session three fresh outfit ideas they can enjoy immediately. Many people feel their closet is drab and they enjoy very little. Yet often when I share with them ways they can pair things, it gives them a new view and they soon see they have more to work with then they thought. Taking the time for this session also enables me to protect them if they choose to shop on their own or with me. Because people can't always look at their clothes objectively, I need to make sure that if we skip the Coset Session and shop together, that we are not getting something they have at home that is is very much the same. This becomes a waste of money to buy a duplicate. During this session I also share valuable tips and direction as to how they may want to consider when they are dressing. Having clients see the before and after really helps them to see how perhaps some ways they were putting garments together in the past made them look potentially shorter and heavier. At the close of the session, I am providing them suggestions and options as to how they can proceed so they can take the time to digest and sit with what feels best for them. Within a few days, I am providing a written version of what we have covered from our session so they are not needing to remember all at the time. From here, we are usually coming up with some type of plan. Either they have some direction from me if they choose to go with my suggestions and I then follow up with them so they feel supported. Or, We are setting a next plan of working together. Most often clients prefer to shop with me. However I never expect them to and really encourage them to do what feels best to them. By the time people are seeking me out they have had enough of doing things on their own. The have either noticed they are not shopping efficiently, sick of searching through items, feel overwhelmed where to begin and really not confident what to select. Or, they may be just so busy that it's a time issue. A shopping Session entails me going to selected locations ahead of time that compliment the clients budget, needs and style. I pull all intended items and then they client and I meet at the stage of the dressing room. From here, everything gets tried on and decided together, what works, what is needed, why etc. at the end, we discuss what falls into their budget needs and we go from there. Nothing is forced. It is important to note that while I prefer to start at someones closet I do make exceptions and this is based after having a conversation. Naturally, I am often hired for one specific need or event and due to the nature of the service, I will happily provide a shop session and skip the closet session.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My background is primarily business and the fitness industry. I was a personal trainer for 14 years and when I moved to the area I wanted to start anew. While clothing and fitness are very different, what is not is the confidence and body image. So, in many ways, I feel I am doing much of the same as there are many parallels. A lot of what led me to starting this business is knowing where my skill sets are and examining what made me happy. Helping people to feel their best, to see them start to feel empowered is for me, the best feeling. I also can completely identify with feeling less than. Because I am on the other side of it through my journey, I am able to authentically know and speak to what an individual is going through. The skill set of clothing, I owe a lot to my Mother and the environment in which I was raised. I was raised by two great parents and a Step Mother. My Mother had to get creative with her resources and therefore, we often found my items at gently used places. Or other times, places that were not considered "high end". At my Fathers home we had the traditional stops of Gap, Banana Etc. Being around a Mother who loves clothes as well as learning how to put items together no matter where they came from taught me a great deal. I have a natural eye and it comes easily to me. This enables me to pick great items at any location, regardless of the price point for it's all how we arrange it. AND, how we have it fit the body. I started this business because I saw a need for it. I wanted people to feel and experience what I had personally and I found a way to do it so it was obtainable to anyone who was open and ready to allow me in. To date, I surround myself with all information and resources I can to help compliment my skill set. I have brought on services that require training in color and fit assessment and I have sought out the training to enhance my services. I wish I could say that I studied fashion and have the intended, traditional schooling behind me. Yet that is just not where my life went. I fully respect individuals who went this route and knew from a young age that was there path. That is not how my story set out but I am thankful for my journey as it has enabled me to be impeccable and incredibly happy which is extremely important when working with people - especially when it's something so personal.
