- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I do not have a once size fits all pricing system, as each job varies so greatly in scope of work and type of work involved. I work on an hourly billing agreement with some clients, monthly retainers with others, and a flat rate for one time projects. I try to establish a price/fee agreement that is comfortable and fair to both parties.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I like to visit either in person or over the phone with new customers, question, listen, and learn about their market, business positioning, priorities, goals and challenges they face. My goal is to understand their challenges and their vision for their business. I then re-confirm or clarify our targets, deliverables, and scope of work, and make any needed adjustments to the pricing. After all of that, I like to review payment expectations and finalize our agreement.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?My educational background is in marketing, and I have 30+ years of marketing experience ranging from Fortune 500 brand management, advertising and media buying, graphic design, event production and marketing, as well as marketing planning, social media management, and web design for both non-profit and for profit enterprises. As the founder/operator of seven small businesses over the course of 30 years, I understand fairly well the challenges facing the entrepreneur and larger companies, as well as the importance of creating a strong brand presence in the marketplace. I continue to own and operate a horse show production company (14 years), which in my opinion, is the equivalent to marketing, planning, and program execution boot camp. It is not an activity well suited for the faint of heart.
