FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
In couple's counseling, I see the couple together for an extended session at first, then meet with each individually for 50 minutes. These first three sessions are what I consider to be the "assessment" phase. The remaining sessions are generally all couple's sessions. Most couples find it helpful to do the first 6-8 sessions at a weekly pace, and then move to every other week if preferred. Generally couples counseling lasts between 10 and 20 sessions, though some couples enjoy the time and use it as a regular "check in" for their relationship.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received my Master's Degree in Psychology from Antioch University in Seattle, interned for over a year at Navos Mental Health Solutions, and have training in Level 1 and Level 2 Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
In high school I was the "Dear Abby" of my friend group - the person who enjoyed listening to people's internal experiences and relationships. I also had a very meaningful personal experience in therapy that motivated me to do the same work for others.
