FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We offer competitive pricing and do not add a contractor fee to materials, which I let my clients purchase directly if they prefer.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My initial goal is to understand what my client really wants. Some people have a very clear picture in their mind and others start with a vague notion or idea. Either way, it is my job to translate that into a solid plan that works within the client's budget. I typically start with a brainstorming session where we bounce some ideas around. I like it when clients send me pictures they find of projects they are fond of. It helps me get a sense of where their tastes lie. If a client already knows what they want aesthetically I will simply develop a plan for building it within the budget. If not, we will send ideas back and forth until we have honed in on something. This can be a very casual and enjoyable process and it is not something I typically charge for unless someone requires formal drawings. We can usually iron out a great plan just by sharing photos, conversation and sketches. Once I have a sense of the general direction we are going I will prepare a quote. If the client decides to hire my company we will finalize the design, source materials, and begin work.
