Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I offer support for individuals with anxiety and depression, post-traumatic stress, as well as everyday life challenges. My therapeutic orientation is centered in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Mindfulness-based techniques. My approach to counseling is collaborative, client-centered, and strength-based to ensure that the therapeutic environment builds upon your skills and abilities. Using a trauma-informed approach, harm-reduction model, and equity-based perspective provides safety and space to process issues that may be too difficult to face alone. My purpose as a therapist is to understand your goals, build on your strengths, and help create positive change. For this reason, my therapeutic approach is evidence-based, culturally inclusive, and focuses on combining the knowledge and skills I have gained from my work and education with your unique set of values and life experiences. I view my background as the “springboard” from which counseling can be personalized to fit your individual needs.

Although I have never been Ms. Anthony's client, I have known her since 20ll and I have watched her skills, credentials, and experience grow exponentially. Her education is excellent and her participation in activities related to her dedicated drive to become a well rounded and knowledgeable therapist who can serve clientele grounded in her volunteer efforts for those in need. She has immersed herself in serving and fighting for a very diverse population of those in need of help. While I receive ongoing therapy from the Department of Veterans Affairs, I would happily and trustfully put my care in Ms. Anthony's capable and outstanding care. I cannot speak too highly of Ms. Anthony. Sincerely, Dwight D Allbee

I have had the privilege of knowing Jessica for 4 years. I’ve always confided in her with whatever problem I’ve encountered – regardless of the situation. She is an incredible listener, and has always offered me sound, relevant advice that’s always personally applicable. Further, she has an uncanny ability to understand very delicate situations and vet through a maze of emotion to reach the best possible treatment. I trust her immensely and would recommend her to any person, couple or family seeking counseling.

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I offer a 20-minute phone consultation to assess our fit, which is one of the most important aspects of success in therapy. If we decide that working together would be a good fit, then we would move forward with setting up an appointment and completing paperwork. After engaging in a few sessions we will discuss your treatment goals and outline strategies moving forward.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I obtained a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology at the University of Northern Iowa. My theoretical foundation is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); however, I draw from Humanistic, Social Psychological, and Creative Processing Theories. I have completed training with The Linehan Institute, Behavioral Tech, with a Level 3 Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Skills Training certification. I am also a member of a DBT Consult Team, which allows for well-rounded care by having a source of feedback on best practices and alternate techniques. I am currently completing CBT Plus certification from the University of Washington and Harborview Medical Center, focusing on treatment interventions for anxiety, depression, behavioral management, and trauma.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

For the past 11 years, I have served others as a volunteer, advocate, and Mental Health Therapist. My passion began in crisis response and victim advocacy, centering my efforts on trauma-related issues in the context of community mental health and outreach services. For over 5 years, I have worked alongside inner city women and children who have been affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, and complex trauma. While obtaining my graduate degree, I completed a yearlong practicum providing individual and group counseling to adults, youth, and children experiencing severe and persistent mental health issues. I transitioned to the Pacific Northwest to expand my therapeutic skills and assist clients in finding balance, acceptance, and meaningful change. I am currently based in Seattle, and I have been fortunate to have served as a Women’s Advocate, Behavioral Coach, Geriatric Counselor, Homeless Youth Therapist, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Skills Group Facilitator.
