- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Weddings: $1200 for 5 hours / $200 each additional hour. Set up and tear down is not charged. Corporate Events / Private Parties: $900 / 5 hours $1050 / 6 hours $175 each additional hour. Add karaoke: $200 Discounts provided for non-traditional days (Monday - Friday) and if date is still available 30 days before event.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Generally, I try to speak or meet with the customer before booking. This can occur at my office in Burien or at a local coffee shop. Because I do not contract my events to other DJs, I generally book dates pretty quickly and can only hold an open date for about a week. If our schedules don't match, we can have a long phone conversation. The goal is to make sure that we both are a match.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Being a mobile DJ doesn't require any specific education or training. A DJ can only develop his/her skills by going out and performing. A wedding DJ must have extensive public speaking experience, be intuitive and be able to anticipate any issues that would disrupt the flow of a wedding. After performing at almost 600 weddings, I have seen just about every situation imaginable and have learned how to react to and/or solve each situation if they occur again. This type of knowledge can only be obtained through experience.
