FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We offer free 15 minute consultations. Certain flat-fee legal services start at $275. Contract negotiating and litigation are billed at $275/hour.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Cornerpoint Law makes hiring a lawyer seamless and convenient. We know that your time is valuable and that hiring an attorney is typically a “need” rather than a “want.” With our online intake process, clients provide us with case-related information on their own schedule. Since we’re a paperless office (meaning we don’t print or snail mail unless preferred), we heavily rely on technology for communicating with clients. Prefer video chat to the telephone? We Skype and Zoom. Or, with our fully mobile office, we meet clients at a time and place that works for them – traffic and expensive parking begone! And when it is time for the payment of legal fees, we accept PayPal and credit cards (except for deposits into our trust account, which we require by check).
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I obtained my law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, in San Francisco in 2005 and my Bachelor of Arts in Communication, magna cum laude, from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles in 2002. I also obtained an Associate in Risk Management certification from the American Institute For Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters (The Institutes) in 2015 to complement my practical experience in evaluating risk and its legal effects. Cornerpoint Law followed shortly thereafter, and now I am passionate about helping businesses minimize the risk of litigation. Because of my interests in technology, privacy, risk management, and the law, I obtained a certification in Cyber Risk Management from The Institutes in 2016. Prior to founding Cornerpoint Law, I worked as a commercial and insurance defense litigator at a law firm in Seattle, and, more recently, as a trial attorney at Nationwide Insurance’s Washington trial division office, where I defended hundreds of businesses and individuals in lawsuits filed against them.
