Introduction: Alta Pest Control is a local company owned and operated by three brothers. We specialize in IPM- Integrated Pest Management- an effective and environmentally sensitive approach to pest management. After being in the industry since 2010 with multiple companies, the owners decided to break lose from big corporations and build their own small business. After college, they took all the good and bad they learned along the way to create Alta. They are excited to make a name for themselves by providing superior service to the residents of the Greater Seattle Area We enjoy bringing peace of mind to our clients. We want them to not have to worry about ants in the kitchen, wasps buzzing in the yard, rodents in the attic or spiders sneaking up on you in the bathroom. The staff from Alta Pest control was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in coming up with a plan to address our rodent and spider problem. We walked the perimeter of our home and he listened to my concerns. He arrived on time and was efficient in his work.

I expected them to take care of the entire home but they couldn’t do pest control in the attic. I was given a reason that the person missed out on bringing ladder. It’s hard to understand how can they miss-out ladder which is essential for such services. Hopefully, they’ll do pest control in the attic at least next month as promised.

Terrible. They want a 1 year commitment at 55$ a month. I did not sign the contract or put my credit card down, and I called them to cancel BEFORE my appointment. I did not have the service completed, but they still insisted that I call them to cancel. I’ve was on hold for several minutes, just to cancel an appointment I’ve never had and a contract I never signed. When I called they said I still owed 54$ for initial services (which I did not have). Do not use.

Those guys are only caring about making a sale and convincing you to subscribe for a year of service. There would be payments, but no service. They gave a guarantee that they would take care of pests, wasps specifically. They removed one nest and didn't care about the rest of the area. Wasps are still here, two months after treatment. I have contacted Alta twice. One time through the text message and once from the thumbtack. No answer. They were responding in a matter of minutes when they wanted to make a sale. Looks like a scam to me.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Right now we are currently pricing Thumbtack customers at a discounted rate in hopes to boost our presence on the site.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We find out what pests they're dealing with, and send them a quote. Upon the technician's arrival he checks in with the customer and performs an inspection of the property. He treats the property accordingly and gives recommendations on how to best proceed going forward to keep the property pest free.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We believe the best way to learn pest control is being hands on. Though all our technicians are well studied and licensed, their best attribute is the years of experience doing the job correctly. The owners and service managers come from years of experience working with different companies in the industry before coming to Alta, bringing a more complete and diversified approach to how to get the job done.
