Introduction: I am an Orton-Gillingham therapist and specialize in working with students who have reading problems and dyslexia. Dana is very compassionate, knowledgeable and skillful when she works with my daughter. My daughter comes with her own unique challenges regarding her dyslexia, and Dana has really taken the time to work with her in a way that is effective for her specifically. We have tried other various methods with no real progress, but my 10 year old daughter is making clear progress with Dana and she is more confident about trying to read, write and spell. The Take Flight program is the explicit, systematic, sequential and multi-sensory program prescribed by the Orton-Gillingham method. We both love that therapy is online from the comfort of our own home! I would highly recommend Dana Brenner as a Dyslexia Therapist.

Dana was fun and energetic making learning easy! She is able to personalize learning to my son's needs. She is on top of legislature that affects students in public schools. She cares about the student's interests outside of tutoring to help building relationships with them. I greatly appreciate everything Dana has done to help our son.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My prices are lower than most because I want everyone to be able to get help.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I meet with the parent and student to find out what the problems are, then I’ll give the assessments. The student will also need to have access to a good internet connection. The student needs a newer computer, ipad, or surface pro. Something that has a camera and the student can write on it. This is the foundation of our work together.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The training I received was through the renowned Payne Education Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They teach an intensive program called Take Flight. This program was developed at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas, Texas and focuses on alphabet skills, phonemic awareness, spelling and dictation. It is specifically designed for children with reading disorders. It is a thorough program that helps struggling readers with hearing sounds, reading, writing, spelling, reading comprehension and fluency. I become a Certified Academic Language Therapist and have passed a national exam to receive certification through the Academic Language Therapy Association.
