FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
YES! I have had 2-3 workshops that I have completed each year over the past few years, and I hope to continue that pattern in the future. I have several workshops I would like to attend over the next year, to keep improving my work for clients. I am a Professional Photographer of America member, and I am also working on my Certified Professional Photographer certificate, and eventually hoping to earn a Master Artist degree in my field of work.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always been 'interested' in photography, took some classes in high school. But it wasn't until my husband and I had an amateur photographer (which is my biggest regret hiring, I wish I would have spent more on a photographer than anything else) take our wedding photos that I though I need to learn how to do this, so I can capture the rest of our lives beautifully. So, I started to learn and practice, and as I got better, friends asked me to take their engagements, then people started offering to pay me to do couples portraits, family portraits, and it just grew from there. I put every penny I earned for the past 5 years back into my business, into learning how to be better, how to capture exactly what I see, feel, and want to portray. Now, I wanted to break my obsession with working at all hours of the day, separate work time from family time, and have a professional space where I could tend to clients. So, I opened the Shreveport LA studio, 2 months after arriving back in America - and I am ready to start sharing my talent with my community.
