FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing system is split into commercial & personal uses. I use the industry standard which comes to about $350 - $500 for 5 mins of edited video for commercial projects and then usually charge a fixed fee for personal (memorials/wedding) videos which can range anywhere from $200 to $500 depending on the length of the finished product and how much footage I need to go through. I will also offer an hourly rate if I think it will help the client (commercial or personal) to stay within their budget. I believe in working with people.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My typical process is to speak with the client directly & really get a feel for what they're looking for. I find that, sometimes, video terminology can be confusing to the lay person so I like to be sure we're on the same page. I also like to talk about their budget & what they are hoping to get for that price.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelors degree from Berklee College of Music and stated out doing audio recording & editing. As video became more popular, I began working with musicians to create their music videos. Back in the 80's I was really doing that as more of a hobby but in the early 2000's I began getting more serious about video editing (as opposed to production) & have been working different types of projects ever since.
