We flooded in August 2016 and hired Brett Stone and his company, Heirloom Cabinet Company to build, finish, and install all of our cabinets (7 rooms). We signed the contract and gave him a deposit on February 23, 2017. He said the job would take about 6-8 weeks to complete. About 6 weeks later, they delivered several cabinets, but didn't install much (if any). He wanted us to install the floors before he installed the cabinets. We finally agreed. On July 10, 2017, all floors were installed and there was nothing preventing him from doing the work. They would drive 1.5 hours to our house (1-2 times per week), but only work 2-3 hours (on average). Progress was very slow and all of our other workers (carpenter, plumber, etc.) couldn't do any more work until the cabinets were installed. In September, we were growing tired of his excuses for not showing up: his truck broke down, his helper was in school, etc. At this point, we began to check our legal options, just in case. Every room had at least one visible piece missing (ex: drawer, drawer facing, or cabinet door). He NEVER accepted responsibility for the delay and was VERY uncooperative. During the last few months, each time they came, they brought a few small pieces (a few shelves, a piece of trim, etc.) He stated several times that all of our cabinets were finished and were sitting at his shop. We offered to pay him if he would simply bring the rest of our cabinets, OR let us come pick them up. His answer was always, "No." After trying to work it out many times, the stress was just too much, so in late November 2017, we fired him! I would avoid him at all costs. He's quite a talker, but his delivery is severely lacking. We're taking him to court.

After leaving the Marine Corps in 1991 I worked in a small millwork while attending college for Electrical Engineering. During my 2nd year in college I bought my first cabinet shop in Flowery Branch Georgia. I have spent 20 years perfecting my cabinet construction and designs in order to be the elite in my field of expertise.
