FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I usually price anywhere $1,500 to $2,500 plus travel expenses, and the ability to sell books. This pricing may vary depending on the type of event.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I would say that my education and training comes more from real world and life experiences. I have spent a tremendous amount of time working my way up from being an entry level drag racing crew-member, to the VP of Operations for Kalitta Motorsports, which one of the largest professional NHRA Drag Racing teams in the world. I have been involved in so many different aspects of the sport of drag racing...everything from cleaning oil pans, to negotiating sponsorship and business contracts for the Kalitta Team, and tuning Top Fuel Dragsters to run 330 plus miles per hour in less that 3.70 seconds. I also sit on the Board of Directors of the PRO Drag Racers Owners Association, which helps with the communication between the racers, the NHRA, and the track owners. This is important in keeping the sport moving forward in a safe and hopefully prosperous direction.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was very fortunate to have written a book about my life experiences as a son, husband, father, drag racing crew-member, drag racing crew chief, and a drag racing executive. I shared many of the mistakes I have made in my life, and what I have learned from them. My wife Tammy was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic lung cancer in May of 2012, and lost her in June of 2013. I spent the first six months of her having cancer not understanding what she was going through. Thankfully I figured it out and became a better husband, father, and person. After people started reading my book...I started receiving e-mails, letters, and social media messages about how my book changed the readers life in a positive way. I started finding myself talking with people in person and helping them through some tough situations. I have always been comfortable in front of a TV camera, or talking to a group of people, so I decided that I could make a positive impact sharing my story of simple happiness to many others.
