I'm a full time working musician but I really want to get better with chord structure and music theory. After talking to John for a minute or two about these goals, he put together a lesson plan for me that included 4 or 5 attachments of chord charts and diagrams. This was a huge help because I'm a very visual learner - I really like how John will show you immediately (guitar in hand) what he's talking about, when you have trouble grasping a concept. I think it helps too that this dude is really laid back, he went over the same thing with me as many times as I needed. At the end of the lesson, a few key concepts were engrained in my brain that helped me understand how the chord structures of Fly Me To The Moon work, and why they work, more importantly. We're going to schedule a lesson every Monday now, I'm really excited to keep moving forward - It's nice to get instruction from someone who is out there playing, producing, AND teaching. John was very helpful in teaching me the proper technique and foundation's of playing guitar. He broke down the basics and instructed on how I could practice on my own and improve my technique. I would be happy to recommend John to anyone interested in learning a musical instrument.Jan 11, 2018
I’ve taken lessons from John for months. I’m a fairly new lead guitarist for our band. My progress has amazed my bandmates in how I now add to the melody of songs using chord inversions and fills. My soloing is more imaginative, soulful and melodic. I especially like the way John tailors his teaching style to my unique needs, always demonstrating the practical application of the theory he explains. Highly recommended.Jan 7, 2018

- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? This is primarily up to the potential student. I am on a pay per lesson basis and am willing to do 30-min trial lessons to see if this is a good fit for the student.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Bachelor of Science in Recording Arts from Full Sail University Attended Nashville State Community College for Music Theory credit courses Bachelor of Music in Composition and Theory from Wayne State (currently attending)
- What types of customers have you worked with?My youngest student was 5 and my oldest student was 82. I work with all sorts of people from all sorts of backgrounds. I firmly believe music is for EVERYONE and I do not discriminate on the basis of race, sexuality, gender, religion, immigrant status etc. That being said. If you or your child is 'special needs' (as in mentally challenged, autistic etc), please bear in mind that I do not have any training or experience with special needs students. This does not mean that I am unwilling to, but I will rely heavily on the parent or caretaker to assist me at least during the first few lessons.
