About this pro
Lauren was so patient and professional. This was my first experience and she made it great. My little one was not cooperating at times but she did not get upset or try to cut the session short. Can not wait to do more work with her in the future.Aug 8, 2018Verified

Lauren was right on time and worked great with my 15 year old. She really took the time to find her best looks and make her stunning! Lauren has a welcoming studio, in a fun Old factory building, that will have your mind racing with ideas for future photoshoots.Jun 7, 2018Lauren Y.'s reply

- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I like to get a sense of my clients taste and personality prior to a session, that way I am able to plan and style the session to coordinate with my client’s tastes and personal aesthetic. Whereas my photography is an expression of my own personal artistic esthetic and my style of photography is why a particular client might hire me, the final result should be pleasing to my client and coordinate with their home and personal taste as that is ultimately where the portrait is going the hang! So I have every new client complete a pre-session questionnaire to help guide their session. And, I am always available to answer questions or for a quick planning session.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I am a member of the PPA, NAPCP and engage in ongoing education and training on a yearly basis. I most recently attended Inspire Photo Retreat where I spent a week on education and improving my photography business. I have also taken several intensive newborn photography courses and would recommend to anyone considering hiring a newborn photographer, to make sure they are trained in newborn safety as it pertains to posing and wrapping, as safety should always be the number one priority of any newborn portrait session.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I first started in the world of photography as a graphic designer back in 2006. I started providing editing for other photographers on the side to supplement my graphic design work and quickly realized that I could be editing my own photographs, rather than someone else’s. And maybe more importantly, I learned that I loved photography! So in 2012, I took the leap from graphic design to photography and I love it. This past year I was lucky enough to open my own portrait studio in Springfield, MA! I honestly believe that having started out in graphic design makes me a better photographer for it. I already knew what a final image required to be great. I knew what to look for while planning and photographing a session, because I already knew what would need to be fixed in post otherwise. And I just love photography!
