FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Cost of jobs fit into one of two categories. If the job is just something basic (like an appliance installation) there is a set fee I use. if the job is more involved and requires more work then I would go to the customer and look at the work they would like done and give them an estimste, which covers materials as well as labor.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Again this depends on the type of work the customer is wanting done. if it is a basic job, I will call the customer and ask a few standard questions about the work so I can get a better idea what to expect. Then I set I date and time for the work to be done and proceed from there. if the job is more than a basic job I call the customer.er and make an appointment to go to the customers house and meet the home owner as well as look at the work they want done. this gives them a chance to ask questions about both me as well as the work to be done. I then put together an estimate for the job and give that to the customer. this gives them a chance to review the estimate and think things through before hiring me. But I will say that in most cases I am hired on the spot and I believe this is due to me going on-site and reviewing the job, explaining to the customer the work required to complete the job to their satisfaction.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As far as education directly related to this type of work, I would have to say none. But as far as training, I would have to say everyday for 27 years when I worked by my fathers side.
