FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I always want my customer to feel comfortable working with me. They should feel like we are a good match. Therefore, I offer my first session for 1/2 price.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first thing I do is to assess their needs. We talk and discuss what their goals are, and how intensive they want the sessions to be. I provide all materials, and judge what will be used upon evaluating the needs of my customer.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently retired, but I just can't seem to stay away from teaching. Therefore I now spend most of my days tutoring students of all ages. I spent the 14 years working with ESL students of all ages. My day job was teaching ESL to 1st through 8th grades. I co taught 6th grade language arts, which require creating the lesson plans, the curriculum and the assessments. I love teaching language through novels, as that helps students to learn vocabulary in context, as well as grammar and syntax. I have also gained a Masters Degree in TESOL and acquired Wilson Training certification and currently am working with a program called Reading Simplified. In addition, I am taking lessons in ASL.
