Introduction: I am a marriage officiant with registration in NY. I've been awarded "Best of Thumbtack" every year since 2015. I do a thoughtful ceremony created with elements of the couple's personal narrative. It's important to me that the ceremony includes all the elements that the Bride and Groom desire. So in that respect, I try to stay out of the way and let them shine. Thoughtfully written vows and a little bit of humor makes for a great ceremony. Helping couples craft their perfect wedding ceremony is quite rewarding. When the father of the Bride comes over at the end and says, "That was wonderful. Thank you so much" or the mother of the Groom says, "That was the most entertaining ceremony I have ever seen" that makes my work so special.

Ross did such an amazing job on the ceremony. We got a lot of compliments from our guests on his speech. It had many personal touches and highlighted our relationship very well. We would 100% recommend Ross :)

Ross arrived at our wedding early, dressed professionally, and with a beautiful, customized ceremony. Biana and I couldn't have asked for more. He was wonderful! I recommend him to anyone and everyone looking for an awesome officiant. (I don't have pictures on this computer, but hopefully, I'll be able to edit this review with photos later. I just couldn't forget to leave my glowing thoughts on such a wonderful experience.)

Ross Decker was the absolute perfect officiant for us! He arrived on time, went through what we had to say before hand and made the ceremony absolutely incredible. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Most of the time we will begin with a phone call, followed by an email. If time permits, I am happy to meet in person with the Bride and Groom to help craft their ceremony.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
While there is no special training required in order to perform weddings, I have a religious educational background and am able to perform religious and non-religious wedding ceremonies. I am licensed by the State of New York.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Dear friends of ours asked if I would perform their wedding ceremony. After a lot of positive responses about the ceremony I prepared for them I began doing marriage ceremonies regularly.
