DO NOT do business with Five Star Moving a/k/a Monster Moving! I dont normally do bad reviews, but felt that I needed to in this circumstance. I met with Justin, the owner, a few weeks ago to get an estimate and schedule a move of my belongings from my house into a storage unit. I also wanted to move 25 boxes which were already in another small storage unit into the new larger unit. I wanted everything in one unit. He said no problem and that he would send me an estimate that afternoon. The next day came and still no estimate so I texted Justin and he said that he would get the estimate to me shortly. Finally, the next day I received the estimate which seemed somewhat reasonable so I scheduled a move date. Then last Friday my mother passed away and I had not had a chance to pack because I was at the hospital with her every day for three weeks and now am planning her funeral so I emailed Justin, told him about my circumstances, and asked if I could move only the boxes that are in the small storage unit into the bigger unit (that I had reserved) and then move the other items from my house at a later date after I was able to pack everything up. I also asked if there was an additional charge and let him know that both units are in the same building. He sent me an email and said that the only additional cost to do that would be for travel. Since he already included the cost of moving the stored boxes in the written Estimate, I thought $95 extra was okay.Well, the very night before my move, Justin emailed me (but never tried to call me or text me during the day) and said I think I failed to mention anything about the minimum amount of hours for the move, I normally charge a three hour minimum with an hour travel time, but because of your special circumstances, I will do two hours minimum with an hour travel time!! WHAT! What a time to forget to mention this key information and then email me the night before without even attempting to contact me via phone or text during the day so that we could discuss! It wouldnt even take two guys one hour to move the boxes from one unit to the next and now he was trying to charge me for a total of three hours time! Then he was going to charge me five hours @ $95/hour to move items from my house into the large storage unit and which already included the cost of moving the stored boxes to the larger unit, so I would end up paying much more than the original estimate. I emailed him with my concerns and asked him to call me the next morning prior to my move so that we could discuss as I was not in agreement with his new last minute charges, and he NEVER called! Justin didnt email me, he didnt text, he didnt call! Very unprofessional and inconsiderate! For an owner of a moving company, he doesnt seem to know what he is doing and certainly doesnt care about the customer. Plus he was trying to overcharge me. So here I am dealing with this debacle and planning my moms funeral all in the same week. Smh Caveat emptor!

This is simply a customer that has nothing better to do with her time than write up ridiculous reviews. We did not even move this customer as she refused to pay a travel charge for a second trip out to her home due to her own circumstances. The statements made in this review are completely outlandish and have no backing. As you can see in our other reviews we do know what we are doing, and we do it well. Unfortunately you cannot please everyone all the time, and this is just one of those cases that the client decided to go down this path and leave a ridiculous review all because she misunderstood a travel charge. She changed the scope of work but did not want the price to change with it. Unfortunately that is not how things work in the world.

I think having a business , the most important thing is to help the client to solve the problem, but clearly they cannot do the job.Here is my experience.In the beginning I have schedule moving with another company, however Justin talked me into choosing 5 star. So I went with 5 star. We scheduled the moving on Sat 11am. At 11 am he texted me, that he will be late, and I said it's okay, just gave me an ETA. He said 30mins, so I just waited at my apartment.Around 12:30 pm, he still didn't show up, so I end up calling him and then he told me they have some problems with the truck, so they cannot show up. My new community could only allow trucks on Monday to Saturday, and our lease will be end on that Saturday night, which means I have to move out on Sat.I ask Justin to call me back (I tried to call him, no one answered), we can talk through about some alternative choices. What I need is just the man power, I could rent a Uhaul and give the money to his guys, but he never replied to me. 1. This company cannot keep up with their schedule.2. If they have any problems with showing up, they would not inform you.3. If they had some problems from their end, they would just cancel on you and leave you hanging there. 4. They would not at least try to think some alternative ways to figure things out.5. They would not pick up your phone if it's totally their fault.I have also attached the text message here between me and Justin.Please DO NOT choose this company. (I have not yet got any apologize from them at all)

I apologized that we needed to reschedule to the next day due to a break down. This was unacceptable to you. There is no reason to leave a 1 star review when we did not even move you. Things do happen that are out of my control. I stopped answering your calls because you insisted we get there and we were unable to and you were not willing to reschedule. No need for a review like this.

Justin didnt show up for the move and didnt answer my barrage of calls until 2 1/2 hours later. He sounded like he just woke up. From reading the reviews it seems no showing is habitual and I sympathize with the rest of you who have suffered. Zero professionalism and more importantly zero remorse. Hiccups occur I understand that, however they should be followed by remedies. In my case I was left in the dark scrambling under pressure to hold up my obligations to my family and my HOA. I was so fortunate to be granted lee way and was able to find another company to come last minute. Yes I incurred extra cost but I tell you everything happens for a reason and my saviors were head and shoulders above 5 Star. What a comical name to bestow upon yourself when youre incapable of holding up and fulfilling your word.

Best rates and best service I have ever received from a moving company! WOW says it all for the crew at 5 Star Moving. From my initial phone call to the last second of my move Justin and Monroe and their crew took care of everything FLAWLESSLY! I have had nightmare movers in the past but I now have a refreshed outlook on the moving industry. I have a lot of very fragile and valuable antiques that I was very nervous about but the guys took excellent care of everything and not 1 thing was damaged! They went above and beyond and I am very happy with my decision using them. They now have a customer for life. I will always call on 5 Stat Moving to move me and highly recommend you do the same!
