- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? Our prices are reasonable. ESA funds may be used for our services. Since our services vary and the cognitive training programs we utilize have license fees, our prices also vary. A proposal on the training plan and prices will be individually presented. Payments for most services may be broken into monthly payments.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?New clients can make an appointment for a free 1/2 hour consultation. New clients are encouraged to fill out an Personal History form prior to that visit. During the initial appointment, we will determine together whether an assessment is needed and discuss whether cognitive training or academic therapy is the best approach. From there, we design a plan specifically for your needs and goals. For cognitive training, we ask for a 50 hour commitment; although we do not ask for a contract to be signed.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Sue Hegg has over 30 years of experience in education as a classroom teacher, special needs academic therapist, consultant, speaker, and homeschool mom. Sue is has completed the coursework for a Ph.D. program in Integrating Technology, Learning, and Psychology and is working on her dissertation. She has a M.Ed. in Special Education and a B.A. in Elementary Education and Speech-Communication. Sue specializes in working with unique learners, young and old, who have dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, emotional barriers to learning, or have never been diagnosed but want to be stronger learners. Donald Strain worked in the semiconductor industry for 17 years, operating and training others to operate ion implanters. Working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and with varied technical knowledge, Don found that even those who struggled could be trained to solve complex technical problems with patience, encouragement and repetition. Don knows that not all learners fit the box of a regular school setting and that cognitive skills training with technology can train the brain to process more, process faster, and improve memory.
