Introduction: Hello! I'm a professor of Film & Television Production at San Jose State University and I teach "The Business of Film" (a course I developed and inaugurated) at Hult University in San Francisco.
My professional experience is straightforward: I wrote, produced, directed and edited four feature films that have screened internationally and have received accolades from leading industry publications such as Variety, Village Voice and Box Office Magazine. The Silicon Valley Metro referred to me as "the most talented and ambitious filmmaker who has ever lived in this area." (My Thumbtack profile photo is from the Metro cover story about my films.)
Additionally I have edited hundreds of hours of footage into feature-length documentaries, produced talk shows for TV broadcast, written columns about film and culture, spoken at conferences, etc.
My academic appointments leave me hungry for creative outlets like video editing (yes, sound mixing and color correction are fun too!) and they allow me plenty of time for side projects. I'm conscientious about deadlines, I work strictly within the stylistic parameters set by the project lead, I value a spirit of collaboration and, as a teacher several times over, my communication skills are second to none.
I have a degree in writing and excel in other creative areas as well, so if our partnership requires any of those additional talents, they are equally available to you.
