- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My rates will likely be between $50 and $100 per hour, dependent upon the project. A deposit of 2 hours' fee will be required before work will begin. Only serious writers, please.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I prefer working with serious writers in varied stages of their publication development, both poetry and creative nonfiction. I am willing to look at individual pieces or work with writers on long-term projects, cycles, and series of works. I combine working via email and/or Goggle Doc exchange and calls and/or Facetime/Skype. I ask a deposit/retainer of 2 hours in advance, and will bill according to of the project needs may be. I prefer PayPal as a venue for payment but will accept checks, although I will not begin the work until the check clears.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied as an undergrad with Lewis Turco. I have more than 20 years as a publishing writer, editor, and educator in community-based programs and in K-12 classrooms. I have three collections of poetry in print and coauthored a text/guide for teachers and teaching artists to support their work in classrooms.
