Introduction: Leischen received her Masters of Art in Vocal Performance from New York University's Steinhardt School of Education. At NYU, she studied voice and vocal pedagogy with Jeanette LoVetri, founder of Somatic Voicework and a faculty member of the prestigious Drexel University College of Medicine. Leischen also holds a BMA from Pacific Lutheran University in music and theater. She is an avid performer and music director in the South Puget Sound and was The News Tribune's Best Actress in A Musical (Honorable Mention) for 2007.
She has been actively teaching in the Tacoma area since 2005 and is a workshop presenter at the national level. Leischen is on the executive board for the Northwest Region of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and on the voice faculty of the Annie Wright School.
Leischen is skilled at teaching all levels of singing from beginner to advanced and youth to adults. She is adept at teaching both classical and contemporary styles of music.
