- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do not. Each job is different, and I think I need to understand what a customer needs before quoting a price.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It all starts with a chat. I really think of myself as a storyteller, but I can't tell a story if I don't know the customer who I am working with.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My background was as a writer first, but a few years ago, I was teaching in San Francisco's Mission District, and I was writing about disconnected youth whose families were being pushed out by rampant gentrification. Filmmaker friends encouraged me to pick up a camera, and to help train me to tell those young people's stories, these friends started hiring me to be a second shooter for weddings and events. I can't say I am self-taught because those friends taught me a lot of what I know.
