Sarah is an excellent teacher. She is a good listener, patient and supportive. Her style makes me feel comfortable to ask questions and talk about my writing/speaking struggles and expectation. Since I started my sessions with Sarah last semester, I have improved my writing skills a lot and found myself much more confident and excited about writing, which reflected on my academic performance as well as my social interaction. Sarah has to be one of the most professional and passionate teachers my boys have had. She is extremely thorough in preparing for lessons. She is able to have a structured and focused environment and keep it enjoyable. She has strong ideas about works of liturature that will most benefit the students yet she was flexible enough to engage my children into a conversation to include their interests. My boys consistenly receive feedback from teachers about their high quality of reading comprehension and writing skills. Sarah was instrumental in this. Mrs. Sari is an excellent writing teacher. Not only is she kind and compassionate, she also teaches writing so that everyone can understand it. This past semester I recieved an A in English 101 at MCC. Without her giving me the foundation of writing, I would have never been able to get an A in that class. Mrs. Sari is very professional as well as punctual. I highly recommend other stundents to take her class, because she is an excellent teacher.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my undergraduate from the University of Iowa in English with honors and my Master's degree from the University of Northern Iowa. Following graduation, I worked as a writing instructor at Arizona State University for four years. During the last six years since then, I’ve tutored privately in ESL as well as writing.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I first started work in a university writing center. Following that, I had a teaching assistantship and then became a writing instructor after I finished my MA in English Language and Literature.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with junior high, high school, & college students as well as ESL adults.
