Introduction: What separates an ordinary photograph from an exceptional one is the emotion it elicits and the story it tells. As a photographer, my goal is to remain connected to the essence of the people I photograph, while respecting my role of observer. I have more than a decade of experience photographing weddings, senior portraits, head shots, children, families, pregnancy and fine art. More than an understanding of equipment, photography relies on an ability to frame moments. As an artist and part-time nanny, my work life has been shaped by the human experience. I connect easily with people and fall in love with photos from every session or event I attend.

I asked Courtney Fillion to take photos at my father's "Celebration of Life". The celebration was a large gathering of 120 guests at my mother's home in place of a funeral to celebrate my father's life. This particular event is quite uncommon and considering the circumstances folks were feeling vulnerable and emotional. Courtney hopped right in with both feet to this challenge. She was sensitive and empathetic to our family and the guests. Courtney made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. She captured numerous wonderful moments of love with our family and friends. We are extremely pleased with the results. We are so glad that this event was captured in such a beautiful fashion.

Courtney is a wonderful person who is passionate about her work. She puts her heart into her photo shoots, and takes time to get to know her clients. Turnaround time on the pictures is quick, because she doesn't doctor the images much. Everything you get is her and not added effects. I highly recommend Courtney and her team!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
At present, I charge $175/hour for my services. I also charge for mileage when driving beyond 15 miles and $10 for a flash drive, if one is not provided by the client.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Upon meeting with a new client, I always like to learn a little about their photography preferences. Some people love black and white, others hate it. Some love documentary style with a more natural/creative flair, while others prefer posed/traditional photos. I enjoy it all-- my greatest aim is rendering a product which pleases my client.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In addition to having top of the line equipment, I've had years of darkroom training and over a decade of working with a wide range of clientele.
