Introduction: South Arrow Woodworks is owned and operated by John A. Thomas. John has 22 years in the custom woodworking industry, all spent in his native Greenville, SC. John offers high end residential cabinetry, modern & unique furniture, artistic conversation pieces, and has recently begun adding solid body electric guitars and basses to his scope of work. I enjoy each and every process of woodworking. Taking a natural medium like wood, and sculpting it into a family heirloom, beautifying a home, or making something with a voice, such as a instrument. I preserve the natural colors of the wood in most of the work I do, using various eco-friendly oils to seal and protect. Watching the grain burst to life of the woods first drink of oil is part of the reward. Finally the look of joy when a client views their custom work for the first time.

I have known John for years and have seen his progression from a custom Mantle builder to Cabinetmaker to an Artisan. He never cuts corners his workmanship is top notch. Should you choose to commission John to build anything for you, you will be very happy with his work and the attention to detail. Solid woodworker, even better person.

The quality of the cabinet doors that we had made was so poor, and he was unwilling to make it right in a reasonable time frame. They are so poor that though I paid more than $2000 for them, they are stored in a back room rather than hanging in my home. Unprofessional behavior and months behind schedule, and I hoped that I would have something to show for it, but instead just a hole in my wallet.
