What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1. We review your business model and objectives with you first to determine what functionality makes the most sense for your vision. 2. Design Scope of Work: To help you select either a design package or help you generate a quote using our Website Pricing Estimator found on our website. 3. Review Terms and Conditions acceptance and send quotations and 50% Deposit invoice prior to starting design work and server set up. 4. We share styles and prior work for design starting points as schedule design review meetings on line "GoTo Meeting" desktop sharing review process. 5. Design Iterations via desktop sharing of website in development phases. 6. INSTALLATION and SUPPORT programs based on timelines agreed upon 7. Final payment and customer account creation in Rockbridge Customer Account Portal. 8. Support Agreements if applicable in place renewable one year terms.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
30+ years in the online marketing industry at a Fortune 100 company based in Silicon Valley CA. Customer service management experience as well as significant business consulting and online marketing background.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
35+ years as global customer service manager at Hewlett Packard and Agilent Technologies I started our firm in 2009. Retired from Agilent 2012 to focus full time on growing our business providing large company value to the small business community at reasonable prices .
What types of customers have you worked with?
We focus on small to mid sized business owners and professionals residing in the U.S. We have designed sites for trade professionals, attorneys, photographers, real estate professionals, software companies, schools, religious / non-profit organizations, educators, travel agencies, labor unions and others... What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Find a developer who enjoys working with customers as much as we do. Do they offer support agreements after the website is designed? Support programs and other services like hosting, email and domain name support? One stop shopping helps prevent finger pointing if there should be problems after your site is developed. The old business adage, "You get what you pay for" applies to website design as well. Look for a company with an interactive design process that keeps you updated and involved in the design process; a quality product with a personal touch; fair pricing using 100% U.S. labor, a company who can work with you and understand your business culture. You will be far better off if even if you pay a bit more. For instance we want you to be our best salesperson after we complete your project! If you are looking for simply dirt cheap pricing, you will be better off using a DIY approach or contracting a designer outside of the U.S. However, if you do... Be prepared to work all hours of the night on the phone to get your website the way you want it with little recourse for timely support if things don't go well. Bottom line... What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Be able to describe your business model and on line objectives. Have some idea of the number of pages and categories you envision. Browse the web for sites that you like and request the developer to emulate. Be prepared to spend quality time with your designer 2 - 4 hours over the course of a week or more depending on mutual schedules. Some sites can be done in 48 hrs depending on the complexity. Be prepared to spend time on content. You are the expert of your business not your website designer. We can offer suggestions or generic content but only you know what you want your site to say to your customers. Be prepared to spend time on this. We can guide you!
