FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My name is Rick Lowe. I am the founder and band contact. I am classically trained on piano, joined/switched to rock bands as a teenager, and have been a full time musician for my whole life. I toured with a recording band "Steel Breeze' before retiring 20 some years ago to start The Timebandits. The members in the band are all accomplished musicians with credits of their own.

- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When hiring a live band, it is important to ask what the price includes. A FULL Service Band should come with its own sound, lightening, sound/lightening technicians. These services do not always come with bands and If the band being considered does not come with these services, then expect extra cost to hire outside outfits to provide them. Be aware that when hiring outside vendors to complete a band for your event that they may not have ever worked together and the outcome may not be as smooth as hiring an all inclusive full-service band. The Timebandits is a FULL service band and comes with its own sound, lighting, sound/lightening technicians and a 2-man set-up crew all-inclusive in the quoted price for the band. A signed contract outlining your event and its needs is very important. You, the client, and the band contact should have a conversation which in depth should spell out all your event needs and expectations of the band. This can include your need for a microphone for announcements (Ie such as an auction/wedding/ retirement speeches); music during band breaks including type of music (i.e. soft dinner music before the band actually starts;) ; 2-3 piece ensemble pre-band--cocktail hour etc. Whatever you need for musical entertainment should be discussed and written into the contract with a timeline. This is very important. The band then can do its job on your event day and in doing so, help you to have your event run smoothly.
