Introduction: From a young age, I have been extremely interested in health and fitness. It's fascinating to me that the way our bodies look and feel are one of the few things we have control of in this world. The most important thing I've learned on my personal fitness journey is that whether your goals are aesthetic, performance or wellness based, there is an exercise and nutrition protocol to help you achieve your specific goals. I've been fortunate enough to enjoy a career in the health industry for the past seven years where I can proudly say I've worked with over 1000 different people on multiple platforms sharing knowledge that helped them get to a healthier place. I am looking forward to continuing my career and potentially helping several more people, possibly you, as the Personal Training Director at Charter Fitness in Valpo. Fitness changed my life. I am mentally, spirituality, emotionally and physically in a better place due to the things I've learned about myself during my own personal fitness journey. The best part about my job is that i could potentially reach somebody and share things or teach things that could have the same impact for them.

I recently had two babies back to back and I decided it was time for a change. When I began training in January I did not know what to expect. I had no experience with working out or eating properly. Training with Jake this past month has been a life changing experience. I have learned that although physical training is an important element of a healthy lifestyle, maintaining a proper and consistent diet is essential. Jake has made this experience as comfortable as possible for me and has been a great source of motivation. I look forward to continuing my training with him for the next few months.

Jake makes my workouts challenging & fun at the same time. Whether it's cardio circuits to lifting I've had a full workout each time. I can come in and work out on my own with what he's taught me. He is very knowledgeable & focuses on nutrition, which has really helped me. He's dedicated to making your goals come true! He's non judgmental and encouraging. He is always available to answer questions inbetween workouts, which I've really appreciated. Definitely recommend!

Been working with Jake for a couple of months now. He has helped make the gym a less intimidating place for me and actually makes me look forward to going. He’s a great trainer and motivates me to push myself and not give up. Highly recommend!

My experience has been good. Trainer pushes me to reach goals and there sre a variety of machines/equipment to utilize. Staff is friendly and helpful.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    I offer several different packages designed to accomodate any goal, budget or lifestyle. All packages include a custom, individualized nutriton plan, regular body stat checks, and unlimited group exercise classes at Charter Fitness. Average package per session rate = $37

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    The process for any new client is extremely professional. Before you decide or select any package I conduct a free consultation and goal assesment profile. Once we converse over your specific goal set, I will explain to you the type of exercise and nutrition protocols that would be best suited for your goals and then select the right package for your goals, budget and lifestyle. Once you sign up for a transformation package we will make a custom individual mealplan together so that it is sure to work for you not against you. After the meal plan our first workout will consist of a simple physical mobility assesment and some basic instruction on proper and safe warm up techniques. Once the basics are covered we will begin designing and implementing a custom workout plan based on YOUR specific needs.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

    No matter who ends up helping you on your fitness journey, make sure they are interested in teaching you things about exercise and nutrition that are SPECIFIC TO YOUR GOALS! Everybody's goal is different so the work to get you there should be different.
