FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our monthly tuition is $90.00, which gives the student a weekly 30-minute lesson. Tuition for students wishing to take a weekly 60-minute lesson is $180.00.Tuition is normally due at the beginning of the month. If a lesson is missed, the teacher works with the student to schedule the make-up lesson. Students who take lessons at Gratz Opus 118 get a discount on most sheet music, method books, etc purchased here.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We suggest that a new student commit to at least 1 month of lessons. That gives the teacher and the student time to get to know: what the goals of the student are; whether the pairing between student and teacher is the right one; clarification of what is expected from both the teacher and student. Once those expectations are established, the student will have opportunity to make certain he/she can do what is necessary for success.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I personally have 2 degrees in music, including a Master of Music in Piano Performance from Miami University (Ohio). I have over 35 years of teaching experience, including 7 years as an adjunct piano instructor at Valparaiso University and 16 years as the piano instructor at the Wirt-Emerson School for Visual and Performing Arts. Wirt-Emerson is a public school that specializes in the performing and visual arts, grades 6-12 (at the time I taught there, 2000-2016)
